I attended the Solve the SDGs 2024 hackathon where we designed a platform to enhance research collaboration between students, university staff and companies. My team achieved 2nd place in Aalto University's challenge: Student-driven Sustainability Impact in Higher Education.

Peer Tutor - LUT University

I was a peer tutor for first year students in the international Industrial Engineering and Management program. This involved helping the students get started in both, their study life and their life in Finland. I was assigned a group of students and I was responsible for giving them guidance and information from the university, organizing some events and answering any questions that they had about their studies. This primarily helped me to improve my social skills and practice organizing events.

Founding Member and Host - AETHER Ry

I am a founding member of the student guild AETHER Ry and served as a board member and host during its first term. This involved meetings for making decisions for the guild as well as planning and hosting student events. This experience greatly helped me to improve my organizational and planning skills as well as skills related to hosting events in practice, such as taking initiative and the ability to withstand pressure and manage unexpected issues.

Study Exchange in China - Hebei University of Technology

In the summer of 2023, I went on a study exchange to Tianjin, China. This allowed me to learn a lot about Chinese culture and the state of China through first-hand experience. Additionally, I visited the World Intelligence Congress 2023, which allowed me to see some new technologies and learn about the state of Chinese development in the field of technology. I also had the chance to visit a Chinese company that manufactures AGVs and learn about the company culture as well as the manufacturing process. Beyond the academic value, I had to push myself out of my comfort zone to get this new experience, which has greatly expanded my comfort zone and helped me to gain more confidence.
